We are delighted that you are considering All Saints for your child. Admissions (joining a school) can be a very confusing and stressful time for parents. If you have any questions, concerns or difficulties with the process please get in touch and we will do our best to help you.

A frequently asked question is what happens in the event that there are more applications than places available. Below you will find our Admissions Policies for Reception and Nursery - these are important documents that detail how we process applications particularly in the case of over-subscription criteria. You will find the policy that applies for the current academic year, and the one for the next.

There are three different types of admission to our school - Nursery Admissions, Reception Admissions and In-Year Admissions:

Nursery Admissions

Children can join our Nursery from the September after they turn 3. All Saints CofE Primary School and Nursery operates a single intake policy to Nursery. This means that all our Nursery age children start with us in September. If we still have places, then we may be able to offer places through the year. Please contact the school office for information.

We offer funded places in the morning (9am - 12pm) and work in partnership with Little Ladybirds Pre-School to provide Nursery in the afternoon (12.15pm - 3.15pm) and childcare in the evening (3.15pm - 6.30pm). The whole provision is based in the same, purpose built building on site so children (and parents!) have a seamless transition from one provider to the next. Parents can use 30 hours funding and childcare vouchers to fund hours as required.

Please note - Little Ladybirds is operated independently of the school and parents will need to apply separately for a place with their provision. Please visit their website for more information: Little Ladybirds

Summer Born (April - August) FAQ
We've compiled a handy guide for parents considering delaying the start of school for their child. Please do read it if this is something you're interested in.
In Year Admissions
For children needing a place at our school mid-way through their school journey.

Due to changes in your circumstances, you may need to change the school your child attends. We have a maximum of 30 children in any class throughout the School. Please call the School first to see if we actually have any spaces available and, if places are available, arrange to visit the school. Since September 2010, the Local Authority has taken over the co-ordination of such admissions.  Please click here for more information from the hertsdirect website.

If you are unsure at all, please call the School office for help and advice or to arrange for an opportunity to see the School.

Admission to Main School (Reception and older)
For children who are not offered a place.
If we have more children apply for a place at our school than we have places available, then the County Council use a waiting list (Continuing Interest List) system to register your child's ongoing interest in a place at our school.
However, you can also appeal the decision made. The County Council will write to you to say they are unable to offer a place, and will include information about appealing the decision. There is a specific process to follow, and you will need to read the information provided carefully.
For Reception places in September, the process is slightly different to applying for an In Year place. The following links and information will help you know what to do next if you would like to appeal.
